Day 10: 30/7/17
Hello everyone, Frankie here with another update. Today was an early start as normal with another great breakfast of pancakes, nutella and a hot cup of milo. After breakfast we had our morning briefing and everyone’s chores were done before we were all allowed a bit of free time. Lots of people read their books and some joined in with some sudoku puzzles as we await the buses arrival.
After an hour in the mini-buses we arrived with our buddies at the Kakum National Park where we met up with the Dwabor team for a whole 5 minutes. We then ate our packed lunches of rice and fish accompanied with ketchup and mayonnaise. After this we met with our tour guide at the reception and climbed a small hill all the way to the start of the canopy walk. This was an arrangement of bridges connected to the trees at canopy level which meant we could look down on the trees and attempt to see some wildlife. After our tour we headed back to the carpark to catch up with the buses. Many of us were excited to realise that the toilet had a door that locked, had toilet paper, flushed and then there were sinks with a mirror! We also all enjoyed a Fan -Yogo.
We set off for Hans Cottage where we saw some crocodiles, which our guide decided to stroke. This was followed by the return journey to school. We then had dinner of vegetarian spag bol, which everyone gave a thumb up to! We are now having a bonfire with our buddies as normal to relax.
Archie and Alex with some helpful input from Bethany.
