Day 5 – Tuesday 4/04/17
After we finished writing the blog post yesterday, it started to p[our with rain. It continued to rain through the night which everybody really appreciated. Archie also continued dip of the dip of the day by leaving note books outside but karma struck which led to his flip-flops getting washed down the hill ( they are now safe).
The cockerel woke everyone up again. Everyone’s role we switched rotating from cooking, washing up and project work. Before breakfast, we cleaned up the site and then enjoyed some pancakes for breakfast. Izzy ( day 5 leader) set up a meeting where we discussed our plans for the day. We decided to continue with the library, paint some benches and start another mural which is half of both school’s logos. After the benches were painted the boys when to do some more cement works in the canteen. The Dwabor team dropped off the sport day equipment before lunch and then went to tour a castle. For lunch, we had spaghetti with tomato and vegetable sauce.
Then after lunch we set up the field for sports day with football, obstacle course, egg with football, obstacle course, egg and spoon race etc. The classes had a different station to go every 10 minutes which were split into the schools different houses, read, blue, green and yellow. The Dwabor team joined us after we had started the games helping to control the children. The Green team won overall and will be receiving their prizes tomorrow during school. After sports day we bonded with the Dwabor team and did a scavenger hunt with their buddies in the local market.
Once they had left, we formed a human chain to collect the water from a tap with some success! We are using this for showers and washing up. For dinner we had yams, rice and beans which was delicious thanks to our amazing chef and cooking team. After showers and washing up, we awarded star of the day to Izzy M and dip of the day to Amber.
We have now started a camp fire with our buddies. Tomorrow we will; be doing a very similar days as we will be replicating our sports day in Dwabor.
