Day 8: Friday 1st April, 2016
Of course April fools started off with a prank. I woke up instantly when Ellie and Tony picked my tent up and staretd to move it. Casy was next, and also woke up when she was lifted. During breakfast we finished off the coffee and chocolate with our pancakes while the school was having prayers in the mosque right next to us. We made our way down to kindergarten for the last time and it finally began to hit me that tomorrow we will be back in Chicago. The kindergarten did not want to let go of our hands as we headed back to camp to pack up while waiting for our final meal made by Judith. Paddy decided on another prank. Troy started screaming from behind the truck and Casey ran to tell Mrs. Reid he broke his ankle. When she came over and saw us laughing she took a stick and ran at us for giving her a heart attack. Our buddies then joined us for a lunch consisting of Jollof rice, spring roles and pasta. We gave them T – shirts as gifts and began our goodbyes. There was about 30minutes of being swarmed by children, asking us to write down our names for them. When we finally made into the car, all the kids stood outside the door waving. We all passed out in the car on the way to Accra. As soon as we arrived we made our way down to the beach. The sun started to set by the time we got dressed and had some minerals with Erin. Dinner was a buffet of delicious Ghanaian food that we all inhaled. We made our way to the boys room where we all started stories and bonded. Because it was so hot we decided to take one last walk on the beach. Once the girls realised our key sitting on the table. After, debating whether this was actually possible or not we said goodnight and headed to bed. Our final day was a complete success.
