DAY 9 – TUESDAY,14TH JULY 2015
Today we spent the morning in preparation for the closing ceremony. It was emotional because we were aware that this would be the last day spent with the buddies. During the ceremony, parents, students, teachers, head teachers, the PTA, priests and other officials celebrated with us. It was incredibly overwhelming because collectively we realised how our efforts had impacted the community. The afternoon was spent sharing a buffet with our buddies. I think we enjoyed having the opportunity to properly share a meal with our buddies. Following this we spent our final moments with the boys and it was with most difficulty that we had to leave to leave them. As a group, we were extremely emotional and realised how attached we had become to our buddies even in a short time. We have built a partnership that I believe will be very long lasting.
