DAY 5 – THURSDAY, 9TH JULY 2015
Breakfast was bread with beans and scrambled eggs. Today’s jobs were cleaning and tidying, painting the primary school and getting water for showers. Painting was successful: the outer wall and the inside of a classroom were done. Cleaning and tidying was well done: the camp is much better now. Everyone enjoyed a cold bucket shower in the afternoon. Lunch was pasta with sausage sauce. Dinner was chicken with a rice ball.

DAY 6 – FRIDAY, 10TH JULY 2015
Today’s painting was on the kindergarten which is already looking good, especially noah’s ark. A few of us visited the Methodist Church which was enjoyed greatly by those who visited. All of us visited the mosque in the afternoon which was a new experience for most of us and very exciting to witness. After a long walk back in the sun we all relaxed as the rain poured and the children played drums.

DAY 7 – SATURDAY, 11TH JULY 2015
Today we went tom the local church for 2 ½ hours. We were taught all about Abraham, the first prophet by Daniel. Olivia and Charlotte both wrote and read out poems during the service. Afterwards we visited the fetish priest where we watched a woman with a white painted face dance around; apparently possessed by a god. Later we walked to the shrine of the fetish priests where we poured libations and asked permission to walk to the Bruku Shrine. Then we walked back and completed odd jobs until bedtime.

DAY 8 – SUNDAY, 12TH JULY 2015
We had to be up early this morning as we were visiting the Bruku Shrine and we wanted to do it while it was still cool. For breakfast we had pancakes then set off in the truck to the shrine. It took about 1 hour to get to the top. We all touched the rock and then did a libation. It was quite steep on the way down and hot. Next we visited Lake Volta. We had our lunch in the shade with a frizzy drink. We looked at a ferry on the Lake Volta. It was extremely hot. It rained on the way back but not for long. Some of us went into town when we got back to buy biscuits and shirts. We collected water for showers. For tea we had egg rice which was nice. It was a tiring day but very fun.
