DAY 10 Team 11

It was a 6 o’clock start before our final morning at Ayensudo. The first hour was very manic, packing and cleaning the rooms. There were some very surprised boys at the amount of dirty clothes and underwear in their tents especially Joe! Some of the girls got their dresses and skirts from the lady who makes then, the rest are on their way.

Having presented our projects to the headmaster we all gathered for the closing ceremony. Last night at camp we gave our buddies our gifts and sung and danced for the last time. This morning we were presented with unexpected gifts from them. The majority of people received fabric which we hope that we can make into clothes when we see the seamstress.

After a massive farewell, we were on our way to Stumble Inn and the beach. Shortly after arriving at the beach Team 10 joined us. We all paddled in the sea and had great fun.

It’s strange that we’re not going back to Ayensudo but everyone in Team 11 is looking forward to their time at Dwabor having spent the afternoon exchanging all of our stories, we are also sad to be leaving Gifty who has been cooking for us all week. However, we have heard that Augustina is also a great authentic cook!

Although we have had a couple of rainy days, today at the beach the sun is shining (and some people got a tad sun burnt!) and we are enjoying Ghana more than ever.

It seems odd not knowing how the weather is or what is happening in England but we hope all is well,

Lots of love

Ellie and Milly
