Day 6
Today started in a challenging way after we found out that a teacher at the Essaman primary school had passed away. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family. The group responded in a very mature and responsible way by ensuring our work was done to the highest of standards. Taking a leaf out of Essaman’s motto ‘Perseverance is the key’, we nearly finished all of the painting at the school despite running out of paint a few times!
We used our breaks wisely, playing with the kids and watching Scott play for Essaman in a friendly match against another local school. Sporting our old Kimbolton kit and carrying off a victory of 5-3, the game was a great watch.
After travelling home in our favourite safari truck, we enjoyed a great dinner of rice, fish and chicken, finished off with pancakes by those with bigger appetites!
