Day 4
We commenced painting the school block. Our buddies helped us to do the higher bits which were painted cream. The lower bits were painted brown though the paint was so oily so it was a bit hard to get off. We were given some sugar cane and coconuts while working which was amazing. We then went to Elmina Castle. This is a 500 year old slave castle. The stories of what happened were shocking and made me feel sick. It was horrible thing to happen. On our return, we then had an arm wrestling competition with our buddies which was so lovely.
Day 5
Today we did a cultural swap with our buddies and they loved the hokey cokey. We also sang to them a mixture of Jessie J and Jason Mraz which went surpringly well. They then showed us how to play African drums which was incredibly hard. The Ghanaian dancing I thaught was going well but the Ghanaian students found it quite funny. On the whole. It has been wonderful experience and were are all doing fine and happy.
