Impressions of Ghana
Now we have been in Ghana a while, Partner Ghana has asked us to include some of our impressions in our blog. As a team we have been overwhelmed by people’s generosity and their sense of community – right from the start they have been willing to help us. We have been surprised by how similar the teenagers here are to us in their behaviour and sense of humour. The fact that all their lessons are taught in English and not Fanti was also a new discovery. The level of their commitment to their religion also amazed us – the all night church service was very impressive (though it did make it rather tricky to sleep!). Everyone here is happy and friendly and above all the trip has taught us you don’t need a lot to be happy, you should appreciate what you have and that a smile can make all the difference.
