This\nmorning we went back to the school, and did lots of activities with\nour buddies, including a traditional Sri Lankan dance that was\nextremely complicated but great fun. Then, in the afternoon we\nvisited the children in the orphanage. This became one of the\nfavourite places for our group. The children and teenagers were\nextremely sweet; They welcomed us with open arms and were so happy to\nbe with us, we played games, sang and danced with them. Giving the\ndonations we had bought for their home. They were so grateful for\neverything. It was a humbling experience, which like so many things\non this trip make us all realise how lucky we are. Many of the older\nchildren had lost everyone and everything in the 2004 tsunami, the\nyounger ones were sick, or abandoned because their family could not\nafford to keep them, some had been abused and yet they were all so\ncheerful. It was really difficult to leave them as this was the only\ntime that was scheduled to visit the orphanage. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
