The train journey itself to Kandy was 7 hours 30 mins. Although sounding painfully boring, the incredible views out of the huge windows gave everyone the boost of energy needed.

After a surprising lack of nagging, the lovely Mrs Bowden and Brownlow let us lean out of the doors- whilst of course always holding on tightly and the train being stopped – to the side of the shockingly long train. We were able to buy snacks along the way which altogether made the journey more enjoyable, Samosas were a particular favourite.

Once arriving in Kandy, we had our last ride on what is now know as “our bus”. As per usual the further 2 hours consisted of ear bursting singing, yummy snacks and boys with top knots. Our final goodbye to Buddhi, although upsetting, left us excited for the next week’s journey we have ahead of us!

We had our first meeting with Ryan (who everyone can already tell we will LOVE), Jade and Evie; all seem lovely and we can’t wait to get to know them, and the foundation more over these next few days. Goodnight from us all. Parents hang in there; we will be back. Love you all- see you soon.-

Alex and Tilly (mainly written by Tilly)

Train not moving

Today we had a VERY early start, leaving Janoda at 6:00am however due to someone sleeping through the alarm- I’m not going to name and shame- we were a little behind schedule. We spent 2 hours on the bus travelling to Ella train station, most of which was filled with snoring, sunrise and stunning views.
