Hi everyone, it is Hannah here.
\nToday was Elodie’s birthday, which we celebrated extensively with numerous renditions of ‘happy birthday’. At 8:15 after a breakfast of omelettes (and plenty of jam for Sam) we travelled to Hambantota town to see the historic Gallows and the Martello tower, in which we were lucky enough to go up to the top and experience a cool breeze, something we have missed while working in the hot sunshine. As it began to rain, we travelled to Tzu Chi School to continue our English activities we started yesterday. After a successful morning we headed back to Janoda for lunch.<\/p>\n
The afternoon was packed with project work – Amy, myself, Tee, Elodie and Emily, with help from Tom and Seb, continued painting the mural outside the Pre school, while Poppy, Lily and Jess sorted out our donations of books for the schools. <\/p>\n
Later on we were treated with a visit to a nearby beach, which although had very rough waves which were to dangerous to go in, was very relaxing and peaceful. Everybody enjoyed being by the sea watching the sunset, it was a good time to talk and relax. We came home to have dinner and I did a review of the day, highlighting the people who stood out for me personally today, who were Christian, Emily, Elodie, Seb and Tom. We are all very hot and tired but are enjoying the time spent with the buddies during the day.<\/p>\n
