We woke up early this morning at six am. We had a great breakfast of fried bread, porridge and a cup of milo which everyone loved. After breakfast we began painting our mural. We have based it on recycling and incorporated both the Ghanaian and the Great British flag. We spent the whole morning painting, some of the team created their own educational murals in small groups to decorate the classrooms. Everyone got a bit tired of painting and we were ready for our lunch break where we ate toasted corned beef sandwiches and brought some minerals (fizzy drinks).
After lunch we went back to painting the murals and some of us sorted out the donations. At about three thirty a group of drum and dance teachers arrived. We were split into groups and learnt a dance, which we will perform to the community on Monday. We also learnt a drumming routine. We completed these activities with our buddies and all enjoyed it. They also brought paintings, masks and trousers. We now have a group of boys who have formed a patterned trouser squad. We then walked into Ayensudo village where we saw some of the local stalls where they sold fruit and vegetables like bananas and tomatoes. We also went to the chemist where most of us bought machetes which Isee packaged, ready for our suitcases. We walked back to the school ready for our dinner of bean sauce and rice, accompanied by an egg. This was followed by a meeting where the star of the day, Frankie was announced.
We’re now sat round the bonfire, enjoying the evening and looking forward to our day out tomorrow. We all miss you lots and look forward to seeing you soon.

Day 9: 29/7/17 Hello, Bethany here with today’s update.
