Day 8: 28\/7\/17<\/p>\n
Howdy y\u2019all, Harry here just with a little update. So once again it was an early start at 6am (shout out to miss) but don\u2019t worry we were quickly fresh and ready after a delightfully cold shower straight from the bucket. We then had one of our camp favorites, pancakes and Nutella with a hot cup of Milo (hot chocolate). Then off we popped to Elmina castle which was amazing and very humbling experience. During our very well guided tour our strength was tested and egos bruised when we were challenged to pick up the 25kg cannon ball left over from one of the main battles at the castle. Some of us managed the feat but not with much grace (Joe, Tom, Nicole, Alex and myself) and then put to shame when Isee our leader picked it up without breaking a sweat and went on to hold it firmly with a single hand with a very smug smile. After we left the castle we took a short trip to the local market where some of us managed to pick up some home comforts of digestives and crackers. After this we took a very bumpy trip to Dwabor to help with the other team\u2019s sports day which was followed by a football game between the teams and their buddies (we won\u2019t mention the score but I\u2019m just going to say the pitch was terrible). Some of us were even lucky enough to meet the wildlife. Finally, we headed back to Ayensudo where we were met with a much-needed surprise and nostalgic spag bowl which went as fast as it could be served. To top off the day we had our evening meeting where we had reflection on the day and unfortunately, I had to break the news of donkey of the day which drum roll please was\u2026Imogen for her lack of initiative at the sports day (sorry Lucy) and for star of the day we had Alex for her gallant effort at cleaning and always having initiative.
