Day 13
\nToday was a long day which felt like it lasted two. We started off as team 13 in Ayensudo, with the cook team waking up at an early 5:30 and waking up the rest of the team to start packing up our camp beds and mosquito nets. After packing up our tents and piling them we went out to eat breakfast prepared by the cook team and Mary. We had omelets and toast which was very delicious. After breakfast we started packing \u2013 well attempted \u2013 for the next four days of R and R (rest and relaxation). After maybe packing the right clothes into the correct suitcase, we separated them into two separate piles, which later where re- organized correctly (we think). Then we went out to the chief\u2019s house to say our thanks for welcoming us into the community and he declared miss Fisher the queen for when she returns, and Fran the deputy. We then returned to the school at ten o\u2019clock, when the bus was scheduled to arrive. We were waiting until 12:30 due to GMT. The kids never lost their energy. We put our bags into the bus and waved goodbye- preparing for the trip. Ten minutes in we arrived. The Dwabor team had already arrived an hour before we had so they showed us the stumble in. we put our bags into the rooms \u2013 boys and girls rooms. After a game of volleyball we started doing the activities: batik \u2013 stamped hot wax on cotton and dyed it. Drums \u2013 strung the drum and walked for a while on the beach. Masks- chiseled out of wood. After activities, we had dinner as it started getting dark. We had a choice of various meals from the bar; chicken kebab and chips or rice, fish and chips or rice or vegetables with boiled potatoes or yam. After dark there was a campfire, volleyball and resting on the beach. We then went to our rooms with three or four mosquito nets and child.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
